Welcome Nick Loock – Digital Creative Intern
Loo(c)k who has been added to the AdShark team! I know what you’re thinking: new employee features in back-to-back days?! As a blog writer, it’s been a treat to have so many new employees to write spotlights for. As an employee, it’s even more fun to have fresh new energy (like Nick brings) to liven up our office!
Nick first caught our attention when he took home multiple Addy wins through AAF-ND’s competition this year. But, he won us over in his interview through his wonderful portfolio and his love for all things design. Nick will be spending his summer working on ad designs for AdShark so we wanted to take a second to introduce him to our community of followers. Keep reading to learn about our new Digital Creative Intern.
Welcome to the AdShark team! We’re stoked to have you interning with us. Can you give our readers a brief description of what you’ll be doing this summer?!
I will be working at AdShark as a Digital Creative Intern, creating effective and engaging content for clients. I hope to have an important role in the marketing process during my time with AdShark Marketing and I look forward to being a part of the company.
You have one sentence to describe yourself… GO!
I am a very enthusiastic and people-oriented person that enjoys being creative and having a good time!
Cool! Now let’s see what you can tell us with a few more sentences. Tell us a bit more about you.
I was born and raised in Fargo-Moorhead. I will be entering my Senior year of college in August and am on track to graduate Spring 2021 from the MSUM School of Media Arts and Design. I will be graduating with a BFA in Graphic Design and a Studio Arts minor. When I’m not doing school work and designing, I like to spend time with family and friends, taking pictures, traveling, and being outdoors (especially at the lake). I also co-run a car club in town called Twisted Royalty, where I help organize events, make creative content, and help build the FM car community.
What drew you to join the AdShark team?
I was first drawn to the AdShark team when Nick and Whitney did an employer presentation for MSUM students and introduced the company and what they do. AdShark employees are more than just a number; everyone has a place in the company and each person has an equally important role and this was a very appealing attribute of the company. So far, I have already felt very welcomed in the company!
What’s your goal for your first month of employment?!
My goal for my first month of employment with AdShark is to first get to know the team I will be working with, as well as gain valuable insight into the digital marketing world.
A genie comes up to you to grant you three wishes. At first you’re startled. What’s a genie doing here? Eventually you get over it and make those three wishes. What are they?!
- For the freedom to travel wherever and whenever for zero costs.
- A new car
- A Vikings Super Bowl win!
If any musical artist could write an album specifically about your life, who would you choose and what would it be titled?!
I would choose Jon Bellion because he is one of my favorite musicians. The album would be called “Endeavours,” because throughout my life I have always set goals for myself and sometimes I’ve failed and sometimes I’ve succeeded. Regardless, I’m always pushing myself to reach my goals in life.
In 2021, you’ll be spending your summer whipping up cool ads for AdShark. Ten years earlier (in 2011), what would you have been spending your summer doing?!
I would be spending my summer whipping up terrible lunches for myself at home with my sister. I would spend most of my time outside. Then on the weekends, I would be spending time with my family at Ice Cracking Lake (yes, that’s a real lake). I still enjoy spending lots of time at the lake.
Describe the most vivid dream you’ve had recently.
My most recent vivid dream was one of the weirdest dreams I’ve ever had. The dream started with me having dinner with my girlfriend and closest friends. I then became overly aware of the lighting in the bar and the lights started moving rapidly. Then the next thing I remember, we ended up on the beach and somehow got separated from everyone I know and I became severely anxious and then fainted. The dream concluded with me waking up within my dream in a random house that I was chased out of.
What’s your favorite family tradition?
My favorite family tradition is probably getting together for holidays at different relatives’ houses and talking with family members that I don’t regularly get to see.
You intrigued us in your interview when you spoke of the car club you helped start. Here’s your opportunity to drop a shameless promotion. GO!
As I briefly mentioned before, I co-run a car club in the FM area called Twisted Royalty. I mostly take the lead on all things creative and marketing-related. I do anything from organizing events to creating graphics for our social media to designing/printing shirts. We host bi-weekly car meets in Moorhead as well as plan annual car shows. This year, we are organizing an Addiction Awareness Show and Fundraiser at Fargo Air Museum on July 10th. We will be raising awareness and money for Recovery Works, LLC in Fargo. Follow us on Instagram at @twistedroyaltynd.
And last but not least, what’s your favorite type of shark?
My favorite type of shark would have to be Great Whites.
